The company BrandingBrand has conducted a survey questioning the users of Samsung phones and their feelings with regard to the recent setbacks of the brand with its Galaxy Note 7. Not surprisingly, users are severe and Samsung will struggle to convince these customers to remain faithful to its line of smartphones.
The study is an online survey, conducted with 1,000 internet users own a Samsung phone. The figures are therefore likely to be taken with some reservations, in the light of the approach is fully declarative of this type of survey. But the results of BrandingBrand show that the fans of Samsung are turning to other horizons : 40% of the respondents explain, in fact, want to change the manufacturer for their next smartphone. They refer heavily on another model of Android phone (62%) while 30% of them wish to go to the other side of the fence and get an iPhone.
On the long term, the addition is therefore likely to be salt for Samsung. The Korean group has revised its forecasts of operating income to decrease for the third quarter and estimated today for the shortfall caused by this case to $ 3 billion over the two quarters following. Samsung attempts, however, retain its customers by offering financial compensation : the Korean users can take their Galaxy Note 7 to the store and get full refund. Samsung announced to offer a good purchase in addition to users who agree to a refund of their phone.
