More than fear of evil with the reminder of the Galaxy Note 7 ? Samsung has published its earnings guidance for its fiscal third quarter. Good news, the firm is expected to show higher profits. Samsung is counting on operating earnings of 7.8 trillion won, or about $ 6.2 billion euros on sales of 49 trillion won, 39.5 billion euros.
The benefit is, therefore, an increase of 4 billion won, or $ 3.2 million, compared to the same quarter last year. It is not much, but it is still a great performance given the circumstances. Between the cost of the recall from Note 7, and lost sales because of the latter, the table could have been much more dark. The impact has also been limited by the performance of the other divisions of the firm.
It is especially that of semi-conductors which raid the setting thanks to a price increase. Thus, if the case of the Galaxy Note 7 comes well to its end, that is to say if the incident involving a new model is an isolated case, the fiscal year should end at Samsung. The firm does not specify for the moment how much cost him the reminder, may be will we have the answer in a few weeks with the publication of the final results.
