The recall of 2.5 million of Galaxy Note 7 was it effective ? Yesterday, passengers aboard a flight Southwest Airline between Louisville and Baltimore were able to attend a small fire a Galaxy Note 7. This is not the first time, there were more than 92 incidents confirmed by Samsung with the Galaxy Note 7, but this time the accident involving the second model of the Galaxy Note 7, one that Samsung offers replacement.

An ongoing investigation

The incident brings into question the efficacy of the original recall of Samsung. The Korean manufacturer and the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) to investigate currently, and it will have to wait a few days to have precise explanations about the details of this incident and its consequences. Another survey conducted by the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), an agency of security, could lead to a new reminder if the findings confirm that the device complained of was a replacement model, according to former directors of the organization. It would have to be the case is not isolated.

For Samsung, the impact is not yet financial

In the meantime, Samsung has delivered the results of its last quarter. Even if the growth of the Korean manufacturer is slowed down compared to the estimates, the operating income increased by 5.5 % to approximately $ 6 billion in the next three months. Its sales recorded a decline of 5.2% to 49 000 trillion won (39 billion euros). These results can be explained, according to analysts, by good performance of the branch dedicated to the semiconductor, which produces memory chips, or even OLED screens. Note that Apple has become, again, one of the partners of Samsung and the Korean giant could make the next chips from Qualcomm.
