“Note That Choosing” : a label more but it is for the good … – LCI

RACES – The consumers ‘ association launches The Note That Choose, a new landmark designed to guide customers through their purchases. A label that has its own logic and which is expected during November in the stores. Explanations.

Too many logos, labels and claims stamped on chickens raised in open-air, organic cosmetics, or even the pads of fair trade chocolate have a tendency to confuse you when you do your shopping. To simplify you the life, the UFC-que choisir wants you to add one more : their own, referred to as The Note That Choose. What seems paradoxical at first glance may in fact prove to be useful.

Because this time, it is not a statement that the client has rarely the exact meaning, stresses the consumers ‘ association, citing the study Green Label Equity conducted by the Fifg and that shows that 59% of French people doubt the reliability of the labels. It is, however, a note that can be attached only to articles that obtained at least 14/20 during comparative tests carried out by the association. This has the advantage of being able to locate it quickly compared to competitors, provided they have also been tested.

Specifically, this note might appear during November 2016 if the manufacturers are interested, it contains different information. In addition to the score itself, the client will also be under the eyes the date of publication of the test, the number of products screened, the range of ratings assigned, as well as a gauge to identify at a glance where is the article by reports to the other products. With regard to the criteria taken into account for each test, they are available on the website of the association to the section entitled How we test”. To go further, the detailed results and the opinion of the tester will, however, be reserved only for subscribers to the site or to the magazine.

To use the logo, trademarks need to pay a license charged between 4000 euros and 24,000 euros, depending on whether they are for use on packaging, catalogues, websites, posters or spots it on the small or big screen. In order not to jeopardize the impartiality claimed by the association (which conducts testing in independent laboratories since 1961 on goods purchased anonymously in the trade as any client), the management and the dissemination of the note is entrusted to a third party, Bureau Veritas Certification.

The royalties will in the first place to pay for this provider. And then any surplus funds will contribute to the endowment fund, intended to finance projects at the service of all and available free of charge. In cartons, for example, mobile applications to help them locate the ingredients undesirable in cosmetics, or observatories on the punctuality of rail transport.
