Become a must in China, Xiaomi continues its offensive on the segment of mobile with the Redmi Note 4, a smartphone at the price / quality ratio is unbeatable.
Not yet present in Belgium, Xiaomi has become a major player in the mobile market in China and Asia, thanks especially to its entry-level models, are sold at very competitive rates. Its Redmi Note 4 is no exception to the rule. As we know, the chinese group intends to democratize the mobile devices.
True to its reputation, Xiaomi gives us a smartphone from entry-level to the very stylish look, that has not much to envy to the top models. At the level of the design first, because as its ancestor, the Note 4 is equipped with an aluminum frame with chamfered corners. Heavy enough, the smartphone has the merit to hold easily in the palm of the hand thanks to its format of 5.5″.
Like its big brother, the Redmi Note 4 is equipped with a fingerprint reader on the back, which allows to identify himself by dragging his finger across its surface. If the device is designed in one piece, he embarked, however, a dedicated compartment to accommodate two SIM cards and a microSD card. The port in jack is also always waiting for you. On the other hand, unlike the MiPro, the Redmi Note 4 is not equipped with the famous port USB type-C (reversible), but a simple USB port.
Level performance, Xiaomi does not disappoint us, delivering a smartphone to the specificities very impressive for an entry-level model. The screen of 5.5″ displays with a resolution of Full HD and is both legible (even in the sun) and very varied. At the processor, Xiaomi drops the Snapdragon 850 for a processor Helio X20. A controversial choice, but which takes on its full meaning when one knows the excellent performance of this processor. Like its big brother, the Redmi Note 4 is available in two configurations, with a choice of 2 or 3 Gb of RAM. At the level of the storage on the other hand, Xiaomi added an optional 64 Gb which will prove very useful to those who have never really adhered to the concept of a microSD card.
Overall, the news are rather scarce. Closer to a mild redesign of the Note 3 as a new model, the Note 4 is even regressing in several areas. At the level of the camera, for example, Xiaomi has replaced the 16-megapixel sensor of the Note 3 by a sensor of 13 megapixels. A choice that could be explained by the desire of the group to propose a sensor, more efficient in environments that are more dark… Except that in practice, there has been no real evolution at this level. The camera of the Note 4 comes out just properly, without shine. The noise was still very present in photographs taken in dark environments, the brightness is awkwardly managed, and the blur made its appearance on some visual. In the same price range, there is however hardly a great cameraphone… The front camera of 5 megapixels is conversely rather well in his work.
At the level of the autonomy, the Redmi Note 4 is doing very well, with a battery of 41000mAh which will take without difficulty a full day with a single charge.
Overall, the report is very positive at the level of the hardware, despite the lack of real novelty.
On the software side, Xiaomi delivers an interface home very accessible, as modeled in large part on that of the iPhone. MIUI is a user interface is very colorful and very pleasant to use in everyday life, that fishery, however, by a lack of features and translations that are sometimes approximate. With a few hacks, the smartphone will be, however, perfectly suited for the western market. Android requires, it is possible to customize the interface with applications and overlays of their choice. On the other hand, we regret the fact that the device is delivered with Android 6.0 under the hood.
To order, it will as always go through a site import, and in the instance with the site Gearbest, which currently offers at price from 131€ (delivery included).

Conclusion
Posting a report quality/price is absolutely unbeatable, the Redmi Note 4 is a great smartphone which only flaw finally comes to its incompatibility with the frequencies 700 Mhz and 800-Mhz that will deprive some users of 4G. For the rest, Xiaomi achieves a nearly without fault in us delivering a smartphone to the stylish look, great battery life and performance is very impressive for an entry-level model.
