Among the features that the users of the Samsung Galaxy Note 7 may regret, there is the Secure Folder, a folder ultra-secure built-in device. The giant south Korean company would be working for a version of this same folder for its Galaxy S7 (and arguably S8).
In the meantime, Samsung continues its very expensive recall program of Galaxy Note 7 : the group announced in December 2016 have recovered 90 % of Note 7 in circulation in the world and stepped up measures to compel the most reluctant to return.
The Secure Folder : a folder ultra-secure
The Galaxy Note 7 was a novelty that many users seem to regret : the Secure Folder. It is a simple folder this natively in the phone’s memory, in which it was possible to put any type of file. There is nothing exceptional in itself, except that the opening of the case was secure.
The user could configure the Secure Folder to open with a password, a fingerprint or a scan of the Iris. Impossible for anyone else to open this file, even by having access to the device… And a very useful feature for professionals, or for personal documents, sensitive.
The Secure Folder available for Samsung Galaxy S7 ?
A user of the Note 7 and the Galaxy Beta Program has sent a suggestion to Samsung to request that a file is again set up in the other devices of the brand, no doubt thinking of the future Galaxy S8, which will be released in 2017 and will be the new smartphone top-of-range of the manufacturer south Korean. It seems that Samsung has not waited for it to lean on this project.
The Samsung team replied that the Secure Folder may be again available for Android 7 Nougat, but not in native. It will have to download an app on the samsung Galaxy Apps Store, which suggests that compatibility with the S8, but also S7.
Samsung does not, however, advanced on a possible release date for a downloadable version of the Secure Folder, the lovers of the brand will therefore have to wait.
