This is a very bad joke of Christmas. During a flight from San Francisco to Boston on Tuesday 20 December, a passenger of the airline company Virgin America has fun to rename the wi-fi on a smartphone in a “Samsung Galaxy Note 7″, reports the BBC. Gold smartphones Galaxy Note 7 Samsung, which present a risk of explosion, are no longer allowed in the aircraft departing from or arriving in the United States and on domestic flights since mid-October.

Two months after the launch of its Note 7, Samsung had announced on October 11, stopping the production and sale of this device, due to defects that can cause an explosion.
“This is not a joke, we are going to search each bag”
This is one of the passengers, Lucas Wojciechowski, who has noticed the wifi hotspot after a one-hour flight by turning on his laptop. He notified the crew, who then launched an appeal to ask the owner of the Samsung Galaxy Note 7 on-board manifest.
The captain even had to intervene to inform the passengers that the plane would be diverted and searched if the owner of the smartphone was not quickly identified.”This is not a joke, we’ll turn back on the lights and search every piece of luggage until we met again”, he announced.

On his Twitter account, Lucas Wojciechowski was told that someone had finally stepped in to explain to the crew that she had well the smartphone with the wifi “Samsung Galaxy Note 7″, but that his phone was not a Samsung. According to it, the name of the wifi hotspot from his phone had been changed without his knowledge.
Too late, the commander had already made the decision to ask the state of Wyoming to inspect the plane and passengers are, therefore, finally arrived in Boston several hours late. Contacted by the british site, The Register, the company has not indicated its intention to lodge a complaint, or not, against the holder of the phone.
