We know why the batteries of the Samsung Galaxy Note 7 exploded – The Huffington Post

TECHNO – After months of investigation, Samsung is expected to unveil on Monday 23 January, the reasons for the explosion of the battery of its Galaxy Note 7. The Wall Street Journal says, as of this Friday, 20 January, already have the answer, or rather answers.

The huge fiasco that has affected the largest manufacturer of smartphones in the world is due to two errors: the batteries are too big and a problem in the manufacture thereof, according to the u.s. daily, which cites several sources close to the matter. Information that complement those published a few days earlier by Reuters.

Samsung has asked three specialized companies and independent investigation on the topic. Result: the causes are multiple. Because in this story, there are two battery manufacturers: a subsidiary of Samsung, SDI, and another company, ATL.

A problem that leads to another

originally, the first explosions, a few days after the release of the Galaxy Note 7 at the end of August, seemed to touch the batteries manufactured by the subsidiary of Samsung. What’s wrong? These were not the right size and did not fit perfectly in the smartphone. Result: they heated too much, which can sometimes lead to the explosion of lithium-based batteries.

The company decided to recall the first phones sold. In parallel, specifies the Wall Street Journal, Samsung asks the company ATL to increase its production to cover the demand. It is precisely this acceleration that will lead to “problems of production” in these other batteries. The result is that even smartphones replacement explode, which forced Samsung to completely stop the sales and recall all of the Galaxy Note 7.
