Galaxy Note 7 : the results of the survey are available in January – Silicon

It is in the course of the month of January 2017 that Samsung Electronics will deliver the findings of its investigation concerning the Galaxy Note 7, reports Reuters.

The goal is to determine what are the reasons that could lead to overheating of the battery of the terminal. Overheating resulting sometimes in the destruction of the smartphone.

Soon after its release, the first case of fire the Galaxy Note 7 have been reported by users. The firm has operated a reminder to replace the battery of the terminal, and is judged to be faulty. Despite this change, the concerns of heaters have persisted over time, with as a consequence a reminder.

The following is known : Samsung has purely and simply removed this model from his catalogue. The cause of the heat issues would be related to the design of this product. An operation that should cost $ 5.1 billion the company.

With the increase of the size of the batteries, the generalization of the systems of rapid charging, but also modems, and constantly more powerful processors, the heat issues are becoming a common feature in the sector of smartphones.

The temperature of the battery has so far not been taken sufficiently taken into account by the processors, who depend shamelessly on it. Chip designers in mobile, however, begin to take this parameter into consideration. Thus, the Snapdragon 835 Qualcomm will have a Quick Charge that takes into account the thermal parameters of the battery. The end of the overheating problems ?
