at the time of the cold sweeping the country, the society in Which Energy has unveiled the results of a study on the average cost of heating in France. Made from 19.663 statements, the survey shows that the average bill amounted to 1,611 euros per household in 2016.
The big difference
not surprisingly, the budgets are highly variable depending on the energy used. The average score has reached 1.927 € for households heated by fuel oil (19% of the panel), while it was of 1.726 euros for dwellings heated by electricity (38% of homes).
The gas appears here is far less expensive with an average rating of 1.415 euros (35% of the population). But it is mainly the wood that is energy inexpensive with an annual budget of only 811 euros (5% of households).
The electricity in the lead at m2
of course, these data can only have an indicative value. In fact, the units are not necessarily identical in the different categories studied (wood, gas, oil, etc.).
in order To see more clearly, What Energy was therefore decided to calculate also the costs to the m2. Here, however, the hierarchy is no longer the same. If the wood (6.1 euros / m2) and the gas (11,5 euros) remain the energy the least expensive, the electricity comes out ahead with a score of 15.9 euros per m2, compared with 12.6 euros / m2 for oil.
What Energy would like to remind that this is due in particular to price changes. In the past year, the price of electricity increased by 2.8%, while oil and gas have, respectively, a decline of 10.5% and 9.2%, respectively.
housing more energy efficient
In 2016, more than half of the dwellings had an energy label D or higher at this level (A, B, C). On average, the label of a home was between D and E, reflecting an improvement compared to 2015 (label medium E).
