Samsung announced a delay in its payment system contactless Samsung Pay. The launch will take place during September in South Korea and the United States when he was initially expected for the second half 2015.
Samsung Pay, the mobile payment solution of the Korean giant, took a slight delay. In its announcement at MWC last March, there was talk of an exit during the summer, during the month of July. Finally, the launch will occur in late summer and specifically in September. In fact, Samsung said that its mobile payment solution will be launched parallel to its future high-end terminal , also unveiled in September. One can imagine that the firm refers to the Galaxy Note 5 about which rumors run wild in recent weeks.
The bad news however, since Samsung Pay will, at first only released in Korea South and the United States. This was already expected, but one would think that the delay would allow also launch in China and Europe. For this, it will wait again, even if Samsung had announced in May that the service would arrive in China and Europe later in the year . The Korean giant said its service will also be available in Australia and South America in the year .
Samsung does not explain the reasons for the delay, but we can imagine that the manufacturer wishes to propose an experiment without a hitch as competitors are now numerous. There is first of all Apple with apple pay (already in service since last year), but also with Android Google Pay which was unveiled at the Google I / O last week. If the latter is integrated directly into M Android, the mobile payment system is also compatible with devices running Android KitKat and Lollipop. Android Pay will meanwhile be available later in the year, and may well overshadow the owner of Samsung solution. Android Pay will have the merit of being compatible with all NFC devices, regardless of brand. Instead, Pay Samsung will only be compatible with some of the brand smartphones like Galaxy S6 and S6 edge or the Galaxy Note 5, due to use the secure magnetic transmission (MST) making it compatible solution with more than 90% payment terminals, NFC compatible or not. Finally, Samsung states that the mobile payment system will be available on other mobile brand.
