|In parallel with the “classic” electric and hybrid cars, Nissan launches such as Chevrolet and BMW in the category of atypical electric with a range extender, via its new Note E-Power, launched initially in Japan.
Rolling on the flat-bands of the Chevrolet Volt, Fisker Karma and BMW i3, Nissan unveils the new Note e-Power, not really hybrid, or electric. It explains…
How it works ?
Unlike the LEAF, the Note e-Power has a electric motor AND a gasoline engine. the Difference with the hybrid cars, classic, driving is all electric. The power supplied by the batteries can move a single car for about 150 miles, while another gasoline engine "range extender" just to recharge the batteries in the event of "exhaustion", and roll over a longer distance.
The press release attests that "the energy efficiency is significantly higher than that of a hybrid vehicle on the traditional, including during journeys of everyday life". However, Nissan has not put forward any official figure and self will be much less than a hybrid. If the small batteries should not allow more than 150 kilometers in electric, sound generator, additional would go to some 250 kilometres maximum.
when she launches in Japan, the Nissan Note e-Power will-t-it a day in Europe, knowing that it has been announced on the departure ?
For the “visuals”, here’s an explanation of image :
A system that is already used, but without success
When 2011 Chevrolet breaks the codes of the segments of hybrid and electric, by offering the Volt, a compact sedan mixing genres with its EREV (Extended Range Electric Vehicle). The american model was converted a few months later, in the Opel Ampera in Europe, with however a missed trade, despite the advanced technology convincing. A second generation of the Chevrolet Volt will be offered across the Atlantic in 2016, but no version Opel this time.
in The same year, the sports sedan Fisker Karma launch (finally) his production, using this same system, but with a total power of more than 400 horses, and above all, a silhouette much more attractive than the strange sedan of General Motors. But here, too, the career will stop quickly, after 3 years…
In 2015, BMW is taking the idea on its urban, avant-garde i3, with an optional range extender engine, twin cylinder gasoline, from of 300 miles starting at 410 km according to the cycle of registration (european plan instead of 330 km in real conditions, according to BMW).
