Getting Started with Meizu M1 Note without 4G, the first step in … – Frandroid

It is now a year since the Meizu brand is present in France. The Meizu range is no longer alone in representing the brand: a few weeks after its announcement in China, M1 rating is about to land in France. It will take place in the new online store of Chinese brand.

Lightweight shift for Meizu who since his arrival in France in March 2014, offered its products at online retailers such as RueDuCommerce, including its MX3 and MX4 and MX4 Pro. Today, it is no longer entirely matter of going through third parties to commercialize its products since the brand launched today in the direct selling online through its website www.meizumobiles.fr/shop/ It found already available devices, including MX4 and MX4 Pro, but also any newcomer: M1 rating. It was recently announced in China and says Meizu, it will be delivered in France from 18 March, at least in his white 16GB version. For other colors (yellow, pink, blue), there may be a additional weeks, available colors depending on the demands of the community.

In its Chinese presentation, M1 Note has managed to make a few arguments in size. It comes in acid colors reminiscent of the iPhone 5C, offers a Full HD screen of 5.5 inches in a body x 150.7 75.2 x 8.9 mm and weighs 145 grams. It is also equipped with a SoC MediaTek MTK6752 coupled with 2GB of RAM and has 16GB of internal storage, unfortunately without micro-SD slot, but with dual-SIM. Good news however side autonomy, since the M1 Note is equipped with a battery of 3140 mAh, and the radius of the picture: it is indeed wearing a 5-megapixel sensor at the front and another 13 megapixel rear. But surprise, we read about online shop Meizu: Note M1 is not compatible with the 4G network in France” , even though the device is proposed at 229 euros 16GB version and its 32 GB version, scheduled later, will cost 269 euros.

We spoke with Frederick Gian, the CEO of Meizu France, which we delivered some additional details about the M1 rating. Due to problems in terms of R & amp; D, there will be no full support 4G network in France by Meizu terminals before the second half of 2015. However, the M1 rating is not totally excluded from the happy world LTE: it is compatible with the 1800 MHz band, which satisfied at least the Bouygues Telecom subscribers. But as it is a hardware and not software limitation, any update will increase the compatibility of the phone with the other frequency bands. Is it bad? “ We aim Meizu community” , says Frederic Gian, who rather consider this unit as a way to satisfy fans of the brand as a means of disposing of many stocks. As such, the brand recognizes that the sale price of the M1 rating in France is high, and ensures that for network compatibility issues again (no 4G band is supported), the M1 Mini will not happen until to France.

We regret even more that M1 Note does not offer compatibility with the French frequencies it is a promising device. The white version we had on hand is a good finish, solid appearance, but for light remaining weight. Its display provides viewing angles satisfactory at first sight and the version of OS FlyMe he embarks corrects some of the shortcomings of the translation ROM that we (re) discovered in the MX4. Only regret perhaps. The battery is not accessible

The arrival of the Meizu store in France will be followed by a launch in six to seven European countries. And most importantly, it will allow the brand team to regularly launch new Meizu from four to six weeks after their release in China, with products shipped from France and a service in France. A reassuring way to import devices that one day may well come out among operators: Meizu is indeed in talks with the hex stakeholders, and seeks in this way to make its colors to the general public
