When Ma2thieu told me he could, through Orange, put me available the next model, the Galaxy Note 4 , I jumped at the chance. I was going to compare the two models released a year apart. Package
For the Galaxy Note 4, the reference in the market for large format smartphones, Samsung did not change the box containing the device (from the last models tested). Description
For its comparison on the Galaxy Note 3 white of my wife, I find that the Galaxy Note 4 black is more beautiful. The white borders of Note 3 accentuate their size while on the Note 4, they appear thinner. I’m talking about black but if you look more closely, the background color of the front is rather a dark gray accented with lighter horizontal lines.
On the front, there is, in the upper part, a speaker, a Samsung logo, LED notifications, sensors and camera dedicated primarily to selfies or video, positioned in the upper right corner.
We are not in the presence of a “borderless” smartphone but the size of borders (on the sides) remains measured. In addition, the fact that they are slightly beveled give an impression of finesse. It is unfortunate that strapping come over this effect because it leaves a space for dust and other dirt. About the slices, we would have liked to see this metal strapping more often and especially on other ranges of the Samsung brand but hey, let’s go, I have already given my opinion on any plastic often used by the manufacturer. For menus, icons are more colored, relief has disappeared and the different functions are organized by theme. They are presented in list or tab. For fans of the Galaxy Note, no risk of being lost because there are the same functions. For others, there may be an adjustment phase because the Note 4 full menus, whether related to the display settings or stylus. The Settings menu now has the ability to display the quick settings. The objective is to present first ones you use most often to avoid spending time searching through menus and submenus.
The only thing that surprised me is the management of multi-tasking: I noticed a lag time between the click on the button to the left of the physical button and the screen display showing the different windows. This delay is longer or shorter but still higher than that observed in the Note 3 under Lollipop or on an LG Lollipop also in G3. This model is the only Galaxy Note 4 handled so far, I can not tell if this is widespread or not. It is hoped that this be corrected with Lollipop update. Applications
Once again, you will not be surprised at the type and number of applications available If you already use a Galaxy Note. These range from standard applications (messaging, email, calculator, voice recorder, music) to those of Google (Maps, Chrome, Google+ Hangouts) through those of Samsung (Galaxy Apps, Pen.Up, S Health, S Voice S Remote) and those for which have a pen is more than respectable (S Note and Scrapbook).
I personally have not used Samsung Pen.up but from the description of Google Play, it is a social network based on sharing creations generated by Pen. The frequency

Now, when the Note 4 displays a result, the information seems reliable (compared to a “real” rate monitor). For the moment, I do not see improvements on the field, compared to S5 Galaxy and Galaxy Alpha.
The fingerprint reader
Unlike the previous topic, thereof has been more interest. The fingerprint reader offers several features even if the release is likely the most used . After testing the Galaxy and Galaxy S5 Alpha, I confirm that the fingerprint scan is done just as simply, even if it is necessary to pass the finger ten times to save the system. Like the other models tested, I scanned my index finger and my thumb of the right hand. Then I tried unlocking the smartphone with two fingers and at different times of the day. I do not know if the player has evolved between the two models mentioned above but I can already say that is the smartphone with whom I have had the most success of the first shot . multi-window mode
