There are some weeks we had already discussed a possible launch of a phablette with a curved screen on the side, so we had confirmation of this unit with the code name: Galaxy Note Edge. (Check out our video to grip the Galaxy Note in an Edge article)
Samsung is not his first attempt, we could discovered last year the Galaxy Round, a fully curved smartphone. There, the Galaxy Note Edge offers a unique design with the extension of the screen on the right that curves toward the back shell edge (FYI, Edge edge means in English.)
When announcement, Samsung has already planned an SDK for developers to be able to adapt their apps and create new uses for this type of display.

What are the differences between the Galaxy Note and Galaxy Note 4 4 Edge
The two devices are quite similar but the Note 4 and Note 4 Edge show many differences. The main difference is of course the screen, but the user interface and performance are also present.
First screen, the Galaxy Note 4 shows a screen 5.7 inches, while the Edge Rating provides a screen of 5.6 inches. Both screens are both Super AMOLED with a resolution qHD (1440 x 2560 pixels). Note the Edge has the particularity to offer a small curved screen on the right side to display notifications and various small menus as you’ll see in our video handling.
At the processor, it learned that the Galaxy Note and Galaxy Note 4 Edge will be available in two variants: a model with 805 Snapdragon processor, and another with Exynos processor 5433. tests already circulating on the web and it seems that there is little difference performance between the Note and Note 4 Edge. It is too early to compare them on this technical point.
Samsung’s TouchWiz overlay software is installed on both phablettes. The display of the overlay difference in Note Edge are shortcuts that are accessible via the curved screen on the side.
Both devices also have the same image sensor Sony 16 mega pixels with a grand opening of 1 / 2.6 inches and a wide angle lens f / 2.0 and an optical image stabilizer, called Smart OIS. As with the TouchWiz interface, the camera application on the Edge rating is on the curved screen.
For the dimensions of the two devices, the Galaxy Note 4 is slightly longer (153 , 5 mm), thicker (8.5 mm) but narrower (78.6 mm) Note that the edge (82.4 x 151.3 x 8.3 mm). Their weight is almost identical: 176 g for 174 g Note 4 and Note for the Edge. Note 4 of the battery is a bit more powerful: 3220 mAh against 3000 mAh
Pricing and Availability
Samsung has not announced pricing, but it is assumed that the rating Edge. will be offered at a slightly higher than the Note 4 Note The Edge will be available in selected markets later this year and the Galaxy Note 4 will be available to him in October prices.
