Québec asks Ottawa to pay the bill of refugees – ICI.Radio-Canada.ca

         Québec asks Ottawa to foot the bill for the reception of 2,000 additional refugees that the province will receive in the coming weeks.
     

         The two levels of government agreed to share the costs of hosting the first 3,500 refugees to be hosted in Quebec, but nothing is planned for 2000 that the federal asked the province to receive.
     

         However, the cost for hosting refugees early 3500 will amount to $ 29 million. Quebec now fears of having to bear the costs of hosting another 2,000 refugees.
     

         The Prime Minister of Canada, Justin Trudeau, did nothing to appease the spirits. “I know that Canadians want us to do all our part, we do not only necessary to accommodate refugees, but to ensure their success,” said Mr. Trudeau since the APEC summit in Manila , Philippines.
     

         In Quebec, the issue of education of young refugees who bounced back to the National Assembly. The Quebec education system should thus absorb the influx of some 1,000 Syrian students.
     

         The opposition questioned the government on the capacity of Quebec schools and the funding of such measures. The integration of refugees will be done smoothly, according to the Minister of Education, François Blais.
     

         “We are able to accommodate these children, we do it every year for a long time,” reassured Mr. Blais, adding it was studying the possibility of increasing funding for schools that receive refugee youth.
     

         The Canadian government Justin Trudeau promised to host 25,000 Syrian refugees before the end of the year.
