Lenovo has just published its list of smartphones that will receive an update on the new version of Android. A reassuring clarification, although the first deployments will take place at the earliest in the month of June 2016.

Lenovo just released on its website the roadmap established for Android 6.0 Marshmallow on its range of smartphones. This concerns rating K3, S1 Vibe, Vibe P1, A7000 and A7000 More.

Several dates are even mentioned. Lenovo Vibe Vibe P1 and S1 should therefore benefit from the update in June 2016. Recall that the Vibe S1 currently runs on Android 5.0 Lollipop, while the Vibe S1 Android 5.1. A7000 and A7000 for Plus, the wait will be a little longer, since it will wait until September. Like the K3 Note.

Lenovo states that models with a customizable interface with a mobile operator will not be affected by this update. Ditto for other smartphones, which will remain blocked on previous versions of the OS.

A new version that deploys (very) slowly

So far, few smartphones run on Android 6.0 Marshmallow. The Nexus are obviously concerned and Android smartphones belonging to One program. The HTC One A9, formalized October 20 last and is available since yesterday in France joined them, and the LG G4, which operates under Marshmallow Poland and South Korea.

But otherwise no manufacturer has yet to benefit one of its models in the new version of Android. However, we know that Motorola is working on it, like Honor, Sony and Huawei. Samsung has not communicated anything about this but the South Korean manufacturer is certainly the case.

Android 6.0 Marshmallow currently represents 0.3% of Android park. It is therefore far from KitKat 37.8% (4.4) of 29% of Jelly Bean (4.1 / 4.2 / 4.3) and 25.6% of Lollipop (5.0 / 5.1). But the impending update of the various flagship stores and the release of new models should enable it to catch up.
