PARIS, Dec. 16 (Reuters) – Fitch said Tuesday degradation from AA + to AA, the credit rating it attaches to the European Financial Stability Facility (EFSF)
. downgrade reflects the deterioration of EFSF last Friday by Fitch, the rating of France, also from AA + to AA, the rating agency said in a statement.
The rating agency nevertheless confirmed the AAA rating given to the European Stability Mechanism (ESM), the successor to the EFSF. The prospect contiguous to the note of MES is more negative but stable.
The deterioration of France had no impact on the ability of members of the eurozone countries to support the MES says the agency.
Fitch downgraded the sovereign rating of France by one notch the rating agency felt that the weak economy of the country was jeopardizing the deficit reduction targets .
