FFA: one more day in 2015 and in 2014 a high note – Charente Libre

The Angouleme Film Festival will last one more day in 2015 and publishes its 2014 figures “to show local benefits.” Like the 200,000 euros injected in hotels and restaurants.

The FFA has sold 17,000 seats in 2014. This allowed the IRGC d & # x2019; & # XEA; be pay & # XE9;. 23,000 euros

The FFA confirms its commitment to offer one day festival next year. And to allow the organizers will launch the event on Tuesday evening with the traditional premiere on Sunday to end the afternoon with the awards. “This will also allow us to broadcast four times instead of three, the ten films in competition , says Marie-France Brière. We also avoid putting three premieres daily except perhaps on Saturday “.

Another change for this eighth edition will happily pay tribute to
Belgian cinema, the dates will be even closer to the school year: Sunday, August 30, is the day before the return to school students

The FFA also made its accounts. 254.000 euros grants for 448,000 euros expenses directly injected into the local economy: Marie-France Brière, one of the three co-founders of FFA has just certify the accounts for the last festival. “This clearly shows the impact of the Angoulême festival” , she summarizes before presenting another figure: in 2013, the appointment has become a must for the start of the French cinema, was spent “only” 377,000 euros, 70,000 euros less. “The evidence that the FFA continues to grow.”

This also shows that the festival is still on the wire razor to balance its budget of around 500,000 euros, half of which comes from private partners.

The festival is also concerned about his future, inevitably linked to that of Magelis, unique quasi-public partner with its grant 224,000 euros (1) . The agreement between the two parties stops in effect after next festival from 25 to 30 August. Its organizers multiply meetings with private and public partners.
Meanwhile, the festival unveils its figures to better show what it represents.

41,000 euros Ticket

The FFA has sold this year 1640 pass ten. At 25 euros the past, so this is 40,975 euros ticketing. But the sum is not affected by the FFA. “We allocate revenue between the three cinemas, according to the number of seats each” , says Marie-France Brière. IRGC thus recovered 23,000 euros, the City 12,000 euros. As for Franquin, “4,000 euros in revenues should be reinvested in the modernization of the room, from what the city told us” , says the producer.

200,000 euros for hotels and restaurants

The hotels restaurants but also directly benefit from the event to fulfill their establishment in a period usually hollow.

So the FFA has paid 100,000 euros directly to hotels and restaurants with the same amount. A significant windfall, of course not take into account the specific regulations came to the festival. Travel cost the FFA 60,000 euros. Of course, most concerns the arrival of film crews but also pays taxi drivers who become those four days of the festival, as well as security officers recruited in Angoulême.
