Football League 1. The TFC ends on a bad note against … – Side Toulouse

Assured maintenance for the penultimate day, the TFC missed his goodbye to the audience, bowing Stadium against OGC Nice (2-3). Trailing 3-0, the Violets made us believe in a long ascent late in the game, but leave with 0 points and an unflattering 17th place in the standings.

Clock Failure to Tef, Nice realistic

If the TFC trembled to the end for his life in Ligue 1, OGC Nice has had a quieter end of season, warm in the belly slack ranking. However, the time was not yet tourism and wearing flip flops for Nice, came to the Stadium with the intention of playing. An intention awarded at the 8th minute when the Brazilian Carlos Eduardo ideally used Neal Maupay to open the score (0-1).

After first quarter of an hour off topic, the Violets were trying to react but too lacked accuracy in the final meters to create real opportunities. Opportunists, the Eaglets eventually double the lead, with Carlos Eduardo again decisive passer, this time for Éric Bauthéac , who won his duel with Ali Ahamada through a subtle stitched ball (0-2, 34th). Note that at the beginning of the action, Maupay seemed to have committed a hand, a gesture that seems he escaped the match officials.

Two goals in the space of two minutes will not be enough to reverse the game

The second period was not more productive for men Dominique Arribagé, with Nice who registered the third goal with Bauthéac on a very eccentric free kick who finished his race in the top corner. Surprised and helpless, the Toulouse doorman offered us there so the ultimate “Ahamadade” of the season.

Then we headed for a nasty hammering, the Violets finished strong with score reduction Ben Yedder , who took advantage of a collision between goalkeeper and Digard Nice to conclude in a totally empty net (1-3, 80th). If the 15th goal of the season striker Toulouse was his ugliest probably Oscar Trejo regaled the Stadium a few seconds later with his technique and his class by removing a defender and then dribbling Hassen to deposit the ball into the net (2-3, 82).

If the fans began to believe in an unlikely back as worthy of the one successful against LOSC there two weeks, Toulouse not reached unfortunately not to snatch the equalizer despite a further chance to score for Trejo, and a dangerous center Regattin in which Akpa-Akpro and Ben Yedder were too short. Final score, 3-2 to OGC Nice, as the first leg.

A disappointing 17th place

So TFC finally ends his season in an unflattering 17th. Despite mixed statistical review (4 wins, 4 losses, 1 draw) Dominique Arribagé was successful rescue mission succeeding Alain Casanova in March, and will continue to lead the club next season. Under the aegis of the former defender of the club, the Tef has had some flashes (victories against Bordeaux and Lille at the Stadium, or the very important Lorient) but also some air pockets, especially in defense. One area on which it will work this summer.

Another challenge, replace Wissam Ben Yedder , which could reach more ambitious club following a prolific new season. Olymique de Marseille would include the running, although Olivier Sadran does not count the sell off. In attack, the Violets can in any case count on the Argentine Oscar Trejo , who after experiencing a little time to adapt, has emerged as one of the best of his team.

The decla Olivier Sadran “Still a lot of work”

“The maintenance was not won there a few weeks so it is really important is to be able replay, stay in Ligue 1. There is the work of Alain was done by capitalizing a number of points and that of Dominic who took over behind by creating a new dynamic. We see this evening that there is still a lot of work, but there is always the satisfaction of being able to continue a thirteenth season in the Elite since 2001. (…) Dominique will still coach next year, with the objective progress. There are some very interesting and positive, and some negative, for us to work around that. We may have the lowest budget for 13 years but we have quality players and good young. However, it remains very low points in the team that we must strengthen it.

About the future of Wissam, he can say what he wants but he needs to be more efficient. If a large team wants it for a price that suits us, we will leave, otherwise, it has a long term contract with us and the probability of being with us next season is much higher than 70%. Unless very important and offers a great club, Wissam will be with us next year. However, we have never deprived any club player from a big club. The big clubs make big deals, so we will see in this case. “
