The play revealed in our columns last Sunday showed that several people at Fifa got wind of the oral agreement between Blatter and Platini in 1998. According to this document, UEFA knew the French negotiating with Blatter. “There are discussions about a salary of 1 million Swiss francs annually,” we read in the note of a given page in the appendix to the agenda to the members of the executive committee of UEFA November 1998. Three of them were then also members of FIFA. According to our information, this note was written at the time by the German Gerhard Aigner, then general secretary of UEFA.
Asked Monday Aigner yet questioned the existence of the note ! But on the document which the JDD has a script, there is indeed an “A” capitalized at the date stuck. “Only Aigner and signed, says an informed source at the JDD .
