Note Fee: each employee offers 212 euros per year for his company – L’Express

This is a gift unintended but very real financial weight. The quest for reimbursement expense is a grueling sport many employees give up practicing. According to the results of an international study * conducted on behalf of IT services company Unit 4, a third of managers concerned do not systematically sought to recover the costs advanced. Negligence which is still 212 euros per employee per year.

US employees are top of the list and lose an average of 347 euros per year, for a total of over 8.7 billion euros. In Europe, it is Germany who leads with a total of € 1.3 billion that businesses should in principle be repaid. In France, the total amount is “only” 0.6 billion euros.

A month wait before being reimbursed

The justifications put forward by the employees not to claim their due are multiple. First we find the amount considered too low, then the loss of a receipt. But quarter of respondents emphasize the gravity of reimbursement procedures, considered daunting.

slowness that seems real well since in some European countries, a quarter of workers say they have to wait more than one month from submission of the application and the actual repayment. But mostly, the procedure takes a month. And obviously, it demotivate employees.

demotivation comes at a high price, since 24% of French employees say they sometimes find themselves in a difficult financial situation due to the lack of reimbursement. 23% feel that the employer and takes financial advantage at their expense.

* Study conducted among 2,000 employees in the US, Canada, UK, Spain, France, the Netherlands, Germany, Belgium and Sweden to middle managers and above.
