While it expects to test the Xiaomi Mi Note a few weeks, our American colleagues from The Verge and CNET have already had the pleasure to get your hands on the product. Thus offering us a first glimpse of what this mobile was in the belly, and we can see that opinions are very positive for the moment. No wonder when you know the expertise of Xiaomi, and specifications of this mobile.

Mi Note, this is the “light” mobile presented it a few weeks ago by Xiaomi . The mobile is equipped with a Sharp screen / JDI 5.7-inch Full HD display (1920 x 1080 pixels), and is protected by Gorilla Glass glass 3. There is a Snapdragon processor clocked at 801 2 , 5 GHz, Adreno 330 GPU coupled and 3 GB of RAM. The internal storage of the device is 16 or 64GB, but without micro-SD slot to complete. Xiaomi has a Sony 13 megapixel camera sensor (f / 2.0 optical stabilization). Front, it is a 4 megapixel sensor which is dedicated to selfies. It also has a battery of 3000 mAh (Quick Charge 2.0), two ports for SIM 4G (nano and micro), and a facility for Android KitKat MIUI 6. As for its dimensions are 155.1 x 77 6 x 6.95 mm and weighs 161 grams. An impressive product on paper so, especially since it is sold for 367 dollars in China.

Design

Regarding its manufacture, the different media seem charmed by the design the mobile. If The Verge notes that it lacks “a little something to go from good to great” , the tester CNET think it’s “a beautiful phone” . Both raise the impression of strength that emanates from the object and effect of the curved hull aft aluminum seems appreciated. Referring as always stories of copying the iPhone, The Verge can not help noting that this lack of Mi Note “originality” explaining that every detail of this design was “borrowed” somewhere.

Screen

The Verge tester seems to have appreciated the screen of 5.7 inches of Mi rating. “For me, the display of Mi rating seems about as perfect a display can be: it is built so that the screen seems stuck to the glass, it has angles of vision 180 degrees, and the colors are so vibrant it looks like the quality of an OLED “, he said. Flattering. Indeed, the Mi Note seems to follow the lead of the Mi 4, already very good at it.

Performance

Unfortunately, the benchmark performed by our colleague CNET, Quadrant, is not very meaningful to measure the performance of the smartphone. Data on AnTuTu would have liked, 3DMark, PCMark, or even an analysis of holding the SoC on GameBench. Obviously, the man is, however, delighted for Snapdragon 801 and Mi Note Pro promises even better with the integration of a Snapdragon processor 810 more in keeping with the high standards of quality in 2015.

Photography

Obviously, the Mi rating was compared to the iPhone 6 on its part photography. The 13-megapixel sensor seems to have been welcomed in different ways. At CNET, we say “quite impressed by the photos taken” “a self HDR mode, however, leave the pictures too dark” but forced mode which lights largely clichés while “not overexposing bright skies” . In contrast, in The Verge, being explains “not impressed with the Camera” “sometimes burn the photographs and makes them dull.”

Autonomy

Our comrades CNET conducted some tests of autonomy in their lab, and note that autonomy is similar to what is on other Android flagships like the Galaxy Note Edge or Nexus 6 with 11:34 load video. They also explain that it will be easy to hold with one day of use.

Conclusion

In The Verge is assigned a good 8/10 to a smartphone that reaches the 9/10 in all sub-categories, except in photography where it tops out at 7/10. The media does not hesitate to explain that “If Android is looking for a Apple Xiaomi may well wear the costume” . For CNET, Mi Note well represents the work and ambitions of Xiaomi since its arrival on the smartphone market, and it is clear that “the firm has put the bar very high with this Mi Note” .

A good omen for the future.
