The testing methodology is fairly standard, we took three pictures with each camera and chose the best for comparison (in order to exclude any stability problems when taking the picture freehand, although three phones have optical stabilization).
We have also tried to frame pictures in the same way, keeping in mind the difference in size of the iPhone 6 Plus.
All images were taken with the default automatic mode, auto-HDR and auto-flash of the iPhone 6 Plus are enabled (except indoor shots on low light conditions).
Auto-HDR LG G3 is enabled by default. As Note 4 does not have auto-HDR, we activated manually when necessary.

Test outside (without HDR)
So usually without HDR images are darker in Outside, the Note 4 seems to make more contrasted the trunk of the tree on the right. This is done, however, at the expense of the details of the tree appear blurred. Comparing the photos, the LG G3 and iPhone 6 Plus fare better here, cameras capturing the patterns of the tree with more accuracy. The results are similar even if the iPhone 6 seems to be more precise with more marked on the right side of the tree shade.
Apple iPhone 6 Plus: the iPhone retains the details and the dark shades of the trunk
Samsung Galaxy Note 4: the trunk of a lack of detail right

G3 Details on the trunk are present
Test outside (with. HDR)
In this test, the score 4 is doing pretty well, the picture taken with the iPhone 6 Plus (HDR mode) is still quite dark compared to those taken with LG G3 and Note 4 Warmer tones Note 4 correspond more closely to reality.
Samsung Galaxy Note 4: the tones are warmer
.
Apple iPhone 6 Plus: the picture is still dark even though the 6 Plus had activated itself the ‘HDR. It is slightly lighter than the original, while still much darker than those of LG G3 and Note 4.
LG
G3: the image is considerably thinned instead of being made darker by the brightest environment <. / i>
Focus outdoors
3 cameras are doing well here, faithfully reproducing the colors and successfully reproduce the details of the stamen of the flower. However, upon closer inspection, it seems that the picture of the iPhone 6 Plus is not as saturated, while those in Note 4 and G3 offer brighter yellow but make artificial picture.
Samsung Galaxy Note 4: The colors of the stamen are a little brighter than the picture iPhone.
Apple iPhone 6 Plus there seems to be more on the petals compared to other devices <. / i>
LG G3: the photo of the G3 is again the most saturated
.
Test outdoors (color)
Looking at the color temperature, the Samsung Note 4 is positioned between the iPhone 6 Plus and the LG G3. The G3 is the one whose pictures were the most saturated colors, while the Note 4 gives him slightly more vibrant colors compared to the iPhone 6 Plus. 3 photos, Note 4 is the one that is most accurate in this area.
Samsung Galaxy Note 4: colors appear vivid
<. img src="http://cnet3.cbsistatic.com/hub/i/r/2014/10/13/25d8551f-a76e-4b1c-ba8d-c207e38c5099/resize/770x578/12b9a434adb39910194b1a01cfff90d3/outdoorcolorsiphone6plus.jpg" alt = "" hspace = "10" vspace = "5" align = "bottom" />
More Apple iPhone 6: the three images, it is less striking, while remaining respectful of scene.
LG
G3: the colors are much more saturated here
Landscape
In this photo taken with Note 4, we found a few quirks. At the bottom right, the Merlion statue looks very blurry. The problem is probably related to the algorithms of noise reduction which Samsung are very aggressive and seem to be very active in the straight edges of the photo. We noticed the same thing on other outdoor images taken with Note 4, this could be resolved with a hotfix. Without this, the Note 4 come out of the lot here. The G3 is a little too dark, suddenly it’s the iPhone 6 Plus offers the best picture.
Samsung Galaxy Note 4: The Merlion at the bottom right of the picture seems blurry, but it’s probably a software problem that can be corrected.
Apple iPhone 6 Plus: the photo of the iPhone is the best of the three

G3: the picture is slightly darker than the one taken with the iPhone
Lighting. inside
In this relatively dark passage, there is enough light sources for the camera deals with it. The iPhone 6 seems to capture more light and managed not to overexpose areas although this is at the expense of a darker picture. On the other hand, the images produced by Note 4 and LG3 are able to better reveal the inscriptions of the panels, and the colors seem to match the reality of the scene. Android phones get comparable results in this round.
Samsung Galaxy Note 4: the inscription on the panel is much clearer than that afforded us the iPhone 6.
Apple iPhone 6 Plus: management of light seems better controlled here but the cost of a darker picture that not really reflect the reality of the scene.
LG
G3: the colors seem more realistic than the original scene and one can easily read the inscription on the panel.
Wore inside
Note 4 seems to propose warmer colors than the iPhone 6 Plus and G3, probably because a camera that does not adjust to the yellow light from the room behind this wall. The G3 and iPhone 6 Plus are better pictures, but the hottest colors of the Samsung will benefit as we will see in the following test.
Samsung Galaxy Note 4: the image looks overall warmer, probably because the camera does not adjust the white balance correctly.
Apple iPhone 6 Plus: unlike the image of Note 4 image white balance seems pretty accurate.
LG
G3: as the picture of the iPhone, the white balance is right here
<. h4> Portrait inside flash
Flashes Led True Tone iPhone 6 Plus and LG G3 possible to obtain a neutral tone without overexposing the image, warmer tones (we talked about above) give the skin on photo Note 4 look more natural.
Samsung Galaxy Note 4: warmer tones give the photo look natural, although this is probably the result of a phone who can not manage incandescent lighting.
Apple iPhone 6 Plus: the flash True Tone creates a clearer image while keeping the skin a natural tone <. / p>
LG
G3. double LED flash does not overexpose the photo
Focus on the inside
indoor lighting strong enough, the three culinary close-up photos make it very well, though again, warmer tones Note 4 are noticeable. The picture looks much more yellow compared to those of the iPhone 6 Plus or G3. This could come from the ability of the two phones to better manage white balance under incandescent lighting. The iPhone has the clearest picture.
Samsung Galaxy Note 4: Note the four had a good photo, but under incandescent lighting warmer tones are clearly present.
Apple iPhone 6 Plus: as the G3, the iPhone 6 Plus can capture details while providing depth fields. However, the left side seems a bit overexposed.
LG
G3: many details in this photo, and a depth of field jokes
This is the most demanding tests for three smartphone even if they have integrated optical stabilizer. Despite numerous light sources to the background, the scene gives pride to dark areas. Previous Samsung (except S5) admitted weaknesses on night shots, but the current generation is doing better.
More iPhone 6 seems to get the best results by keeping the bridge correctly presentation and producing a record of the cleaner stage. The G3 overexposes deck with orange hues.
Samsung Galaxy Note 4: Note the 4 rose on night shots while being beaten by the iPhone.
Apple iPhone 6 Plus: from the 3, the iPhone seems to have returned properly night photography without the overexposed bridge.
LG
G3: G3 suffers while managing to capture more light the bridge and keep the details knowing that the tones around the bridge seem to half-mast.
If we took a selfie
On the
Note 4, the phone lets you use the sensor frequency heart to take a picture but the handling is not obvious because of the size of the smartphone. I had to stretch a bit and my fingers since there are no keys to press, you have to guess where was the sensor while keeping the break. Not easy stuff.
On the iPhone 6 Plus, the front camera automatically takes 10 images continuously and offers a delay of 3 to 10 seconds, the time to implement. The burst mode is very useful against eye blinking or moving subjects. This bodes well, because you can always choose the best photo. As for the G3 can trigger a photo with a gesture or touching the volume knob cleverly on the back.
Samsung Galaxy Note 4: The Galaxy Note 4 has a filter that gives the skin the appearance smooth skin of a baby.
Apple iPhone 6 Plus: the iPhone 6 More emphasis reality
G3: the front camera of the LG has a filter that softens the skin
.
Results
Overall, the camera of Note 4 works
beautifully. It should be noted some minor problems with balance
white (especially under incandescent lighting) and
slightly blurry around the edges.
If its sensor 16
megapixel captures details, a feature that
lacks the iPhone 6 Plus 8 megapixels, the fact remains that
large photos appear blurry details.
We preferred
warmer tones of flash Note 4, while the iPhone 6
Is much more accurate. The LG G3 is itself a competitor
very consistent, matching the iPhone 6 Plus while offering more
details with a camera of 10 megapixels (13 megapixels the option
gives a cropped picture 4: 3).
