Interesting only if you travel a lot.

This is the letter that never fun to open, after the month’s Holiday return: the bill for fees charged by his bank for expenditures made outside the euro zone. By dint of fixed commissions, primarily related to withdrawals from ATMs (count 2.35 per transaction to LCL, EUR 3.30 for the Postal Bank) and proportional (allow about 3% on withdrawals as on payments), the Note climbs quickly

See our table. a big traveler (2,500 euros spent in the dollar zone) will pay 90 euro fee, 3.6% of its purchases! Certainly, the prestige card holders are less seasoning (the variable rate drops and 3, 10-2, 15% LCL). But the most effective to reduce the rating remains turning to online banks, which take only the proportional costs of about 2%.

Alternatively, if you multiply the movements in the year: you get one of these new cards specifically designed for this use, and separated from your checking account. Despite the cost of issuing (count 20 euros per year in Account-Nickel and 29.90 euros in PayTop), they can divide the bill by three. All for an extremely simple operation: it is you who, by a free transfer from your account, charge card before taking off

However, careful not out nails.. PayTop conditions and are valid only for transactions carried out in dollars or pounds sterling. Finally, if you dream of the card Air France-KLM American Express, know that it’s worth it if you are traveling away (you must earn 7,000 miles to get a way in Europe, the quota available) and spend a lot (65 euros contribution of the Silver are paid 8,000 euros after expenses).
