England ends on a high note – Le Figaro Sport

England has offered an exit with a bang on Saturday in Manchester, with ten tries against Uruguay (60-3), a week after its elimination of “his” World Cup soon the first round.

Initially, the game was to be ideally placed to ensure the promotion of rugby in the North of England, gained football and cousin of XIII. But the day of the final of the Super League XIII, a few kilometers away, at Old Trafford, the Manchester City Stadium did not sound like a feast day with over 4,000 available seats … At the warm already, the first spectators arrived had booked a half fig home, half grape to XV of the Rose. Some hissed, others applauded. But when pictures of English coaching is displayed on the giant screen, the crowd was unanimous and whistles resounded in the stadium. Stuart Lancaster, reserving the lion’s share.

It should be said that the week has been a nightmare for employers XV de la Rose. Already, it was necessary to try to digest the elimination from the group stage, unheard of for a host nation then had to deal with rumors and penalties. Friday, assistant coaches Graham Rowntree and Andy Farrell were fined for having approached the referees at halftime of the defeat against Australia (33-13) October 3. No big deal, but in the context, the case has been high on the sports pages of the British press. Then Lancaster had to respond to rumors of South African Nick Mallett or Jake White’s successor. The Football Association (RFU) has denied to Mallett, White denied for himself. To top it all, the final of the Super League, Wigan, in the suburbs of Manchester lost against Leeds. This means if the public Mancunian needed a good game.

10 tries
The English have obviously dominated. But faced with the aggressiveness of Uruguayans, the XV de la Rose was not flamboyant. There were some beautiful movement, a spectacular trial Anthony Watson (8) and two others, more traditional, Nick Easter at the conclusion of a maul for the first (18) and a percussion (21- 3, 23). After more much until halftime. The public has warmed by an ola and three to four “Swing low, swing trolley” and encouraged a paper airplane arrived on the ground. For their part, the men of Lancaster, well qu’entreprenants, not managed to find the fault. While all the public was not yet back bars after the break, Watson scored the fourth English Test (26-3, 42). England made the forcing and saw himself awarded a Henry Slade trial was beating everyone at the race on a Uruguayan countered kick (55), Jack Nowell also spun him into the in-goal (58) . Easter scored a hat-trick (61) and received a standing ovation, as Owen Farrell upon its release and Mike Brown during his entrance. Nowell concluded the evening with a hat-trick (69, 73) and a penalty try (80). That …

Thus ended the World of English, which still offered a lap of honor, applause. They will now return home to care for their egos and their headaches. Softly as in the song.
