Wall Street ends up on an uneven grade for results – Zonebourse.com

The International Monetary Fund (IMF) revised down its forecast for global growth due to more unfavorable outlook for the major emerging economies, Brazil and Russia at the head, and the oil exporting countries amid depressed the prices of raw materials.

In its economic outlook released Tuesday, the IMF also believes that the risks of further deterioration “seem more pronounced that there a few months.”

The Dow Jones gained 13.76 points, or 0.08%, to 16790.19 points. In contrast, the S & amp; P 500, wider, lost 7.13 points, or 0.36%, to 1979.92 points and the Nasdaq Composite 32.90 Points (-0.69%) in 4748, 36 points.

The first quarterly performance is a harbinger of the earnings season, which unofficially begins on Thursday with Alcoa numbers.

According to Thomson Reuters data, analysts see the member companies of the S & amp; P 500 to report an average decline of 4.2% of their income in the third quarter, which would be the worst performance in six years .

Six of the ten major sectors in the S & amp; P finished in the red, the health index has yielded 2.33% after five consecutive sessions of decline. The Nasdaq biotech index lost 3.77%, down for the second session in a row.

The energy index however gained 2.23% in the wake of courses petrol.
