“Florence Foster Jenkins” No false note **** – Le Parisien

U n year after his biopic missed Lance Armstrong, Stephen Frears finds inspiration with the story of Florence Foster Jenkins, played by Meryl Streep, who inspired the “Marguerite” by Xavier Giannoli. Frears tells the true story of this New York heiress 1930s which saw opera singer. Persuaded to have a beautiful voice, she sang so false it caused general hilarity. Her husband (Hugh Grant) then did everything for it does not know the truth. The film alternates between comic and tragic scenes, owes much to the perfect interpretation of Meryl Streep, with that character at once exuberant and suffering (as sick of syphilis), and Hugh Grant in tune.

Franco-British Biopic Stephen Frears, starring Meryl Streep, Hugh Grant … 1 h 50.
