Expo Trois-Rivières: “We end on a good note” – LaPresse.ca

After having accumulated several days of rain, the Agricultural Expo has resumed carnival tunes to the last day Saturday. The rides were operating at full capacity and shouts of joy resounded everywhere. To cool, indoor facilities including agricultural and educational portions attracted many people seeking a little shade.

“We end on a good note. The people came to enjoy our last day. For sure Mother Nature does not support us completely last week, and even Friday. But we are happy, “says Ghislain Demers, President of the Agricultural Expo Trois-Rivières. For three years, the Expo begins on Thursday and ends on Saturday to add one more evening programming. And so far, the strategy is winning, says Mr. Demers.

Saturday, field exposure crumbling under a blazing sun and young families flocked in their tens to enter the site. According to Mr. Demers, it was one of the biggest Expo Saturday that Three Rivers has known. “We always hope to reach our figure of 50 000 visitors. At the speed it fits today [Saturday], I think we will achieve it, “he went on.

This resulted in long queues to have access to the most popular rides, but families do not seem bothered, nor heat, nor by the waiting time.

Jaimie Moore waited for long minutes with his 10 year old son to the Super Shot. “It’s not so bad. And it is less worse than La Ronde, “she says. While her son loves to rides towers, it is pleased that the attractions are near his home in Trois-Rivières. The heat did not seem to disturb them.

Each year for four years, Linda pleases its Enzo and Leo boys by leading them to the Expo. The appointment has become a must for the family. “We come for the kids. They love it so much, do the rides. The temperature is perfect, it’s bearable, “she said.

Ghislain Demers returned to the first Friday of the Expo which broke records while 9,000 people passed through the turnstiles in one day.

“Last week, people knew the rain was coming. We had a very large Friday. It was a big day and a big night. There was a party atmosphere as we like to find in the exhibition, “he says.

The rain forced the cancellation of some shows, including performances of Milot Land Tour.

“There are some shows Ben Milot where it was too hardened for pilots to jump. These shows have been canceled then, “says Demers.
