A system modeled on the evaluation of chess players

It is called “Elo Score” as the Elo ranking that evaluates chess players in terms of wins and losses, and weights the points gained or lost depending on the level of the opponent. The “Elo score” Tinder is based on a method that engineers Tinder took two and a half years to shape ensures Sean Rad, which is not only based on the number of likes and beauty.

No universal criterion

Chris Dumler, an engineer at Tinder says the American Journal contours of what he calls “a vast voting system. ” “Whenever you like or recalez Profile, you say nothing more than ‘this person is more attractive than another ‘,” he explains. “Every swipe (action love or zapping profile, ed) feeds the system, regardless of the motivation of the decision”. Although the physical criterion remains the main criterion, “it is no universal beauty,” says an engineer of Tinder. And if a highly rated user likes your profile, appreciation will increase accordingly, says another engineer the application.

A process common in applications of the new economy
