The Tokyo Stock Exchange ended down Monday as investors preparing for a busy week in the crosshairs of the US employment figures and a meeting of the European Central Bank (ECB).
At the end of trade, the Nikkei 225 blue chips yielded 0.69% (-136.47 points) to 19,747.47 points.
The broader Topix index of all securities the first table, for its part fell by 0.89% (-14.20 points) to 1580.25 points.
The session was very active with 2.46 billion shares traded on the first market.
On the foreign exchange component, the dollar was recovering compared to Friday, hovering around 122.74 yen, while the euro was weakening again to 129.88 yen.
