Biom Attitude, what is it?
Founded in 2013, Nort-sur-Erdre, Biom Attitude is a rating agency. As its name suggests, it noted companies. But unlike the major international financial agencies, which had made the news, there is some time, lowering the rating of France, Biom focuses on the social and environmental aspect. “Since we do not include economic performance, we do not risk creating a speculative bubble” says its founder Arnaud Lobez.
How Biom attitude she proceed?
From the balance sheet of a company emerges Biom seventy two criteria relating to employment, solidarity and the environment: local hires or not, share of disabled employees, origin from suppliers , taxes paid in France or not, from hybrid vehicles in its fleet … To make its calculations, the agency relies on public repositories sustainable development (local schemes, corporate social responsibility …). At the end she gets a percentage supposed to represent the part of the turnover invested “in land development and well-being of its inhabitants” .

Who scored?
For now, Biom noted 260 companies, 70% established in the region. “But we have a national vocation” says Arnaud Lobez. Most are small and medium enterprises of all business sectors. Ultimately, the agency could also noted communities.
Notes, for what?
For rated companies, which have opened their accounts to the agency, the Marketing interest is obvious. The note can tip the balance in their favor with picky clients on sustainability issues, be it other businesses, individuals and especially local authorities, providers of wholesale contracts.
“In terms of tenders, however there is still progress to be made legal” , said Arnaud Lobez. Today, a municipality may not impose on candidates and, through a specification, a grade according Biom index.
How is remunerated Biom?
L The agency derives its revenues from businesses that pay to be noted. To avoid any suspicion of fake notes, the amount of the provision of Biom for two years (the note is reassessed every year) does not exceed € 3,850. “This is what protects my freedom” , provides Arnaud Lobez. His agency, which employs four people, currently has annual turnover of € 300,000. And plans to exceed the two million within three years.
