The famous American site iFixit managed to get their hands on a Galaxy Note 7. And rather than put it in his (large) pocket and go take beautiful pictures, he did what he knows best: apart. A task that requires a lot of tools and battle with a chassis filled with adhesive. Good, because it guarantees a seal to any test.
Presented earlier this month by Samsung, the Galaxy Note 7 was fairly surprised. the new PHABLET Korean resumes in fact the design of the Galaxy S7 edge which adds a stylus and some technological gadgets additional. iFixit has however kept apart to find out what was in her womb.
A phone not to disassemble without breaking anything
As much break the suspense right away, the US site it has put the note in 4/10 repairability. In case the design all in roundness of the unit. iFixit shows as well as the phone screen is so difficult to remove cleanly, because of its curvature, it is “probably impossible” to disassemble without breaking it.
the shell of the phone, and also curved glass is also equally difficult to remove without breaking properly. iFixit thus indicates that Samsung has put a big dose of glue for that it is as difficult as possible to remove. This is not a bad thing, since it ensures the phone the best possible seal. Recall as well that the Galaxy Note 7 is a certified smartphone IP 68, that is to say it can stay under one meter of water at least half an hour.
The essentially identical components Galaxy S7
once the hull removed, the remaining components is ultimately very classic and, for once, much easier to access. Most elements are modular, that is to say, they are easily déclipsent motherboard of the device. So we find a battery of 3500 mAh (again chosen by glue) powerful (13.48 Wh), an Exynos SoC almost identical to that of the Galaxy S7 and … three cameras.
again, nothing really shocking since found the back sensor for taking pictures (a Sony IMX260 12 MP identical to the Galaxy S7 sensor), a front sensor (5 MP) for taking selfies and finally Iris scanner, the one of the main innovations of the Galaxy Note 7. the latter is a camera composed of both an infrared transmitter that will illuminate the eyes of the user so that the camera sensor could take a picture of Iris, explains the uS site. A process that is supposed to be more secure than a fingerprint sensor.
as always, dismounting in the rules of art is beautifully illustrated with close-ups of components. Go to this address to see more.
