Introduction

the lockscreen

Android 4.3, it is now possible to add widgets on your lock screen they bring diverse and varied information as the consultation time , your SMS , managing your music , weather or display latest articles posted by your favorite news site.

Note that if you use another release system (by scheme etc). widgets will be limited to the display of the clock your last unread SMS or your musical widget .

The

Launcher

Now to the terminal launcher, it has received little Changes made by adding a new notification bar with a transparent overview, creating a more immersive interface that we can find in the Samsung 2013 range or other devices like the LG Nexus 5 or smartphones One of the Taiwanese HTC. This may seem a detail, but it nonetheless provides additional comfort optimization side of the space. To continue into the details, we also find the addition of new clocks and a new musical widget . More importantly, phone settings are now divided into tabs which makes navigating menus easier.

changes in the application menu is minimal, we just noticed the use of new icons, the MP3 player is now renowned music player, a name that is more appropriate.

Video Player

Changes in the video player are not huge, the application will now switch on a light background with the most impressive elements, giving a functional and intuitive appearance. The display of your videos is by default with thumbnails, you can customize the display in the settings. Related functions screenshots in the videos are still present.

Music Player

music player now displays a redesigned interface and more intuitive , finished impossible returns to playlist . The interface is more sober and aesthetic . When you connect your headset, a page is automatically displayed on the launcher with a shortcut to a widget and music video, this panel also reference shortcuts to applications related to audio / video (Spotify, YouTube etc..). Samsung offers a music shortcut in the notification tray and the unlock screen. Music lovers! Samsung has thought of you!

Web Navigation

browser has undergone slight modifications at the design , but not in features, it is still very full . We noted a better reactivity and cargo slightly shorter. The grip of the terminal network is always excellent while having the lowest market DAS (the right side of polycarbonate). It is now possible to print a web page / document / image (etc) with any printer Wifi / Wifi Direct / Bluetooth.

S Note

terminal has been no change on S Note (which I think is a good thing we found in our review of the Samsung Galaxy 3 Note that the application had become less intuitive.)

SMS / TEXT INPUT

The terminal has given a slightly revisited Application , with the addition of zoom in conversations via the up and down volume (very zoomed default). Keyboard is the same as the Samsung Galaxy Note III (only the color changes), it is functional text prediction is efficient (SwiftKey kind) however I feel a slight preference for the shape of the keys of the old keyboard. Of course if you do not like the default keyboard, you can always switch to another solution (basic keyboard Google, SwiftKey, Swype etc.).

Conclusion

This update to Android 4.3 is a good surprise , even though we may regret the absence of certain interface elements of the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 as the flow actus or a new camera application. However, the device is more reactive , the interface offers new animations , applications launch faster. The autonomy of the terminal is in when she still remarkable for a smartphone. Now there is just cross our fingers that the terminal receives the upgrade to Android 4.4 KitKat …
