Samsung could directly offer Android 4.3 for the Galaxy ... - KultureGeek

Android 4.2 has been available since the beginning of the year, yet the update is not yet available on some devices. The Galaxy S3 and Galaxy Note 2 are two examples. These smartphones from Samsung are still in 4.1.2, the update to the latest version should have been done during the summer, or for various reasons, the transition has been delayed to a later date.

If one believes Temefy citing people at Samsung India, the Korean brand would eventually intend to move to the Galaxy S3 and the Galaxy Note 2 Version 4.3 directly without going through 4.2.2. It is not possible in reality. Indeed, Android 4.3 should be available in the coming months. The interest to move to 4.2.2 when 4.3 will be available will be limited. Logic suggests that Samsung follows this idea, however, nothing prevents the manufacturer not to do so.

Another point is made, that the major update to Android 5.0. It has not yet release date, however, the Galaxy S3, S4 Galaxy, Galaxy and Galaxy Note 2 Note 3 should all support it. It will not be deployed at the same time for all these devices.
